Rock formed by the successive deposition of inorganic or organic sediment. They may be of detrital origin (from the decomposition of older rocks, eroded and transported by the elements), organic (composed of organizations remains skeletons, shells, tests, coral reefs scraps or plant decomposition) or chemical (mainly formed by evaporation and precipitation altering the chemical composition of its elements such as salt or gypsum). The family of sedimentary rocks is mainly composed of clay rocks, limestone, chalk (chalk) of carbon compounds (coal, coal, lignite, etc.). From its various components, the rock will be formed by compaction, pressure, chemical processing, or cementing caused by the action of carbonic acid in the ocean floor to form after a few tens of millions of years of hard rocks and compact.
